On May 27, 2020, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (department) submitted, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, a pre-hearing proposed revision to Florida's State Implementation Plan to remove the motor vehicle rules. The department has determined that the rules are not needed for attainment and maintenance of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), nor for protection of visibility.
