Earth Science Week Contests

This year's theme for Earth Science Week is "Water today and for the future." To celebrate, the American Geoscience Institute invites you to share your creativity with video, photography visual art or essay with a focus on water.

Video Contest

(All ages)

Submit a brief, 30-90 second, original video exploring the many ways people interact with water, one of our most vital natural resources. In your video, show how people of various backgrounds manage, conserve and use water.

Photography Contest

(All ages)

The photography theme for this year in "Water as a Resource in My Community." Use your camera to capture an image showing how water is an important part of life in your community.

Visual Arts Contest

(Grades K-5)

The visual arts theme for this year is "Water and Me." Use your creative skills to produce an original work of art that shows the roles water plays in your life.

Essay Contest

(Grades 6-9)

Write an essay (no more than 300 words) about how we can use water in ways that support sustainable practices
