Florida Coastal Office

The Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection coordinates the protection of the state’s natural, cultural and economic coastal resources. DEP manages more than 4 million acres of submerged lands and coastal uplands. With support from NOAA, the Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection manages the Florida Coastal Management Program, 41 aquatic preserves, three National Estuarine Research Reserves, Florida Resilient Coastlines Program, Florida Coral Reef Conservation Program and Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. RCP also manages the Clean Marina Program.

Meet the Director

Kevin Claridge, Director, Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection

Kevin Claridge is the director of the Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection. During his almost 20-year tenure with the state of Florida, he has led resource management, restoration and regulatory efforts across the state and represented Florida in many state, regional and national partnerships. He has administered coastal management, air, waste, water facility, environmental resource and mine reclamation programs.
