Acquisition and Restoration Council (ARC) Small Management Plans, Minor Plan Amendments and Incompatible Use & Linear Facilities Policy Requests

The Division of State Lands has received the following items for review. The division will approve each request on the indicated date unless at least three Acquisition and Restoration Council (ARC) members ask the division place that item on a future council meeting agenda. Please contact the ARC Staff Director with questions.

Management Plans for Properties Containing 160 or Fewer Acres

Queen's Island Preserve (Lease No. 4110)

St. Lucie County has submitted an update to the Queen's Island Preserve management plan (101 acres Board of Trustees/213 acres County). The Preserve is located on Hutchinson Island adjacent to the Indian River Lagoon. Recreational facilities include nature trails, several benches, and a boardwalk. The Division of State Lands will approve this management plan update unless three Acquisition and Restoration Council (ARC) members ask that the Division place the plan on a future meeting agenda. Lake Istokpoga Islands Complex: Windy Point Park/Lake Istokpoga East Boat Ramp (Lease Nos. 4357 and 4322)

The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has submitted an update to the Lake Istokpoga Islands Complex management plan. The management plan covers two sites: Windy Point Park and the Lake Istokpoga East Public Boat Ramp. Combined, both parks make up approximately 37 acres of Lake Istokpoga shoreline and provide crucial boat/water access to residents and visitors. Management Plan Amendments

Tate's Hell State Forest: Vinard's Place Day Use Recreation Area

The Florida Forest Service (FFS) has submitted an amendment to the Tate's Hell State Forest management plan. FFS will build a new picnic pavilion, parking lot, grills, and information kiosk at the Vinard's Place Day Use Recreation Area within the state forest. The below link contains the amendment description as well as maps and agency review letters.
