Call for Nominations for DEP’s Northwest District 2018 Environmental Stewardship Achievement Awards

DEP’s Northwest District Office is excited to announce a call for nominations for its annual Environmental Stewardship Achievement Awards Program which recognizes those who are working alongside DEP to safeguard Florida’s natural resources and enhance its ecosystems.
The program recognizes businesses, professional and community organizations, and local governments within DEP's Northwest District for exceptional achievements to prevent or reduce impacts on the environment. To be considered for recognition, participants must demonstrate proactive, innovative and measurable achievements that exceed regulatory requirements and provide a direct benefit to our environment in one or more of the following categories: :
Reducing environmental impacts
Additional criteria that will be considered:
An organizational culture of environmental stewardship;
Continuous improvement and growth of environmental programs;
Environmental education and outreach components;
Innovation and exceptional achievement in environmental stewardship.
Rules and Instructions:
1. The Northwest District Environmental Stewardship Achievement Awards program is open to Florida businesses, industries, professional and non-profit organizations and local governments located within Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Wakulla, Walton and Washington counties. 2. Application or nomination must be received by close of business Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018. See submission instructions below. 3. Completed nomination form must be submitted along with any optional supporting documents. 4. Supportive material is limited to 10 additional pages. 5. To nominate a deserving organization, or to be considered for recognition, please complete the nomination form and include any supporting documents demonstrating environmental stewardship efforts, including the criteria outlined above, by close of business Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018.
