A part of the Office of Operations, the Bureau of Operational Services is a highly diverse unit within the Land and Recreation Program made up of three individual program areas providing coordination, direction and technical operating assistance across all offices and divisions. Staff assist the Division of Recreation and Parks in providing high-quality experiences for park visitors by creating and supporting educational and recreational programs, volunteer opportunities, public–private partnerships and administrative support. The bureau also provides administrative and communication support to the Division of State Lands.
Responsible for strategic and integrated marketing and social media account management for the Division of Recreation and Parks, including internal and external communications for the Land and Recreation Program. Also coordinates media contacts for the Division of Recreation and Parks, including serving as liaison to DEP’s Press Office, writing press releases, reviewing calendar announcements and media advisories for parks, responding to photo requests and assisting with film permits.
Interpretive Services and Programs
Coordinates interpretive services and targeted programs (i.e., guided walks, campfire programs, first-person living-history demonstrations and self-guided publications), including indoor and outdoor exhibits for the Division of Recreation and Parks while utilizing the full potential of Land and Recreation’s recreational opportunities.
Training and Professional Development
Responsible for oversight of personal development training for the Land and Recreation Program.
