Joe Kahn joined DEP's Division of Water Restoration Assistance in May 2015 after a four-year stretch at Georgia-Pacific’s Cedar Springs mill where he led the mill's environmental section. Before going to Georgia-Pacific, Joe was the air division director at DEP. He previously worked in several program areas in the air division, and in DEP’s Southeast District air, water and solid waste programs, and was a water and wastewater consultant in West Palm Beach. He is a Florida registered professional engineer.
Joe grew up in Miami, Florida, graduated with an environmental engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, and worked for several years in New York state’s air pollution program before escaping the winters to return to Florida. He and his wife Cindy stay busy with a house full of cats and dogs and enjoying the milder winters here in North Florida.
