Port Charlotte El Jobean Vacuum Station/Sewer Expansion Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Division staff were invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Port Charlotte El Jobean Vacuum Station/Sewer Expansion project. The project includes connecting properties to central sewer; education on Florida-Friendly Landscaping to reduce the impacts of herbicides and pesticides; construction of vacuum pump stations; and construction of the Myakka Water Booster Station. DEP is providing just over $3 million in funding though federal water quality and legislative appropriation grants, and a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund low-interest loan for the project. Jon Moore from DEP’s Southeast District attended on behalf of the Division.
