The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Rookery Bay Research Reserves' "Edscursions" take place twice a month on Fridays.

The next episode -- "Science at the Surface: NOAA Sentinel Site" -- will take virtual visitors into the field via livestreaming to learn about the monitoring of coastal landscapes, response to sea level rise and data collection in wetlands.

Each Edscursion adventure, available and educational for all ages, takes participants on virtual field trips to explore the waters, wildlife and uplands of Rookery Bay's 110,000 acres. Whether it's watching birds on a nesting island, hiking through mangroves to reach a secluded, sandy barrier island beach, or livestreaming a boat trip to find fish with biologists in Naples Bay, these adventures are informative and full of fun! Rookery Bay scientists and educators broadcast live and explore spots all over the reserve.
