On July 12, 2018, Governor Rick Scott issued an executive order to preserve public access to beaches. As part of this order, he directed the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to serve as an advocate for the public's right to public beach access and act as a liaison to local governments to ensure the appropriate implementation of House Bill 631.
DEP is committed to providing an opportunity for Floridians and visitors to report violations of their right to public beach access and to provide input about beach access concerns. DEP will share these concerns with local governments as they are received and provide a report of all input to the Florida Legislature and Governor.
*Please note Florida has a very broad public records law. Most written communications to or from state officials regarding state business are public records available to the public and media upon request. As such, the information provided in this form may therefore be subject to public disclosure.
