Empowering Future Environmental Leaders:
A Partnership Between Girl Scouts and DEP
The Girl Scouts and DEP’s Aquatic Preserves Program share a common mission of environmental stewardship. By partnering, we can offer Girl Scouts hands-on opportunities to engage in conservation efforts like habitat restoration and waterway cleanups, while earning badges related to sustainability and nature. This collaboration helps develop leadership skills and empowers girls to become the next generation of environmental advocates. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the Florida Aquatic Preserve Act, and this program provides a unique chance to celebrate and protect Florida’s natural aquatic resources together.
Florida has set aside some of its most treasured landscapes for protection. These living waters are ours to explore and experience. Sign a pledge to safeguard Florida’s diverse ecosystems for future generations.
