Recycling Information and Services

Solely as a service to the public and Florida businesses, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) maintains the following list of companies and organizations that provide various recycling services. The information was voluntarily supplied by the services providers and is not necessarily a complete list of available services, and a company's absence from the list does not imply prejudice or impropriety. DEP does not endorse specific equipment or companies. DEP, by providing this list, does not imply that the companies are in compliance with applicable laws.

Storage Tank Compliance

Storage Tank Compliance is part of the Permitting and Compliance Assistance Program in the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Waste Management. In 1983, Florida was one of the first states to pass legislation and adopt rules for underground and aboveground storage tank systems (USTs and ASTs).

The state of Florida currently has close to 24,000 regulated storage tank facilities, and storage tank compliance inspectors conducted more than 11,000 inspections in 2023.

Used Oil Recycling

In 1984, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) implemented a used oil management program under sections 403.75 through 403.769, Florida Statutes. Florida’s Used Oil Recycling Program has grown to become one of the most successful in the United States and has received national recognition.
