DEP's American Beach State Revolving Fund Project Recognized by Environmental Protection Agency's AQUARIUS and PISCES Programs

At the 2026 Council of Infrastructure Financing Authorities (CIFA) Summit on Water Infrastructure, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized water infrastructure projects for excellence and innovation. Each project, financed in part by State Revolving Fund (SRF) programs, demonstrated the importance of water infrastructure for supporting healthy Americans and laying a foundation for economic prosperity.

Newberry held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new regional wastewater treatment plant that will help advance wastewater treatment capabilities, improve water quality and help meet environmental goals of the Santa Fe Basin Management Action Plan area.

DEP Helps Fund Neighborhood Septic-to-Sewer Connection in Orlando

Septic-to-Sewer Connection Celebration for Pine Hills Neighborhood in Orlando:

Orange County held a septic-to-sewer celebration for the conversion of approximately 95 properties to central sanitary sewer along North Pine Hills Road in Orlando. The project is expected to reduce nitrogen loading to the Wekiwa Spring and Rock Springs Basin Management Action Plan.

DEP’s Division of Water Restoration Assistance is providing more than $7. 9 million for the project through the Wastewater Grant Program and the Springs and Watershed Restoration Program.
