Marinas on leased state-owned lands may sustain damage or be destroyed during hurricane seasons. As a sovereign submerged lands leaseholder, you may be entitled to financial relief from lease fees if you are affected by a hurricane. When a hurricane makes landfall in Florida, the secretary of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection will issue an Emergency Final Order for a specific area and time period.
Debris constituting an immediate threat to public health and safety and removed by the responsible local entity may be eligible for funding under the FEMA Public Assistance program.
