DEP's Plant Excellence Award Program

Call for nominations for the 2024 Plant Excellence Awards! Nominations are due by February 7, 2025!

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking nominations for the 2024 Plant Excellence Awards. This program celebrates Florida’s drinking water and domestic wastewater facilities that demonstrate excellence in operation, maintenance, innovative treatment, waste reduction, pollution prevention, recycling or other special achievements.

This year, in addition to being able to nominate entire facilities, we are encouraging nominations for individuals or teams whose quick actions, creative problem solving or process improvements have led to a plant’s success.

To nominate individuals or facilities, please fill out the application form by Feb. 7, 2025.

Each facility can submit up to three separate nominations under the following categories: Person, Process or Plant/Facility.

To be considered for recognition, participants must demonstrate proactive, innovative and measurable achievements that exceed regulatory requirements and provide a direct benefit to a facility’s success. The person/process/plant being nominated must also have met the criteria for this award during the 2024 calendar year.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Water Resource Management congratulates the winners of the 2023 Plant Operations Excellence Awards for drinking water and domestic wastewater facilities from around the state. The awards are presented to facilities, people, and processes that demonstrate excellence in operation, maintenance, innovative treatment, waste reduction and pollution prevention, recycling or other special achievements.
