What's Happening

The Department is undertaking a project to replace the DEP Oculus system with a new, modern electronic document management system (EDMS) utilizing Laserfiche. This system will continue to support the Department’s storage, management, and retrieval of documents.

 

When Will It Change?

  • The new system will go live mid-October of 2026.

 

Why Is It Changing?

The EDMS replacement is necessary to ensure continued reliability, security, and compliance with current standards. The new system will support:

  • Enhanced search features to support search across the entire repository;
  • Improved system stability and performance; and
  • Enhanced security and information management controls.

 

How Will It Impact Me?

There is no action required at this time. Impacts will vary depending on how you access or use our document repository.

  • Users who submit or insert documents will require a new user account to access the new system.
  • Affected users will be contacted directly with further instructions as it becomes available. 

Further updates will be provided on this page as the project progresses. For now, you may continue to use the current EDMS system at depedms.dep.state.fl.us.
