The first phase of repairs at the headspring of Ichetucknee Springs State Park has been completed. The repair project utilized the low bid procurement process. The scope consisted of demolition of the headspring rock wall, wood deck and stairs, sandbag rip rap, wood fence and construction of a new headspring concrete stair with handrail, accessible chair lift and guardrail. This challenging project met the budget and schedule while receiving no complaints during construction. Ichetucknee Springs State Park headspring provides visitors with the real Florida experience and the beauty of the springs scenery is second to none. The park is now the diamond attraction of the Ichetucknee River.
Design consultant Jones Edmunds & Associates provided the design for the project while Charles Perry Partners Inc. performed the construction. Project Manager Uyles W. Keen Jr. managed this construction project on behalf of the Bureau of Design and Construction.
