2023 Environmental Stewardship Achievement Awards - Call for Nominations

DEP’s Southeast District office is excited to announce a call for nominations for its Environmental Stewardship Achievement Awards Program, which recognizes those who are working alongside DEP in Protecting Florida Together by safeguarding the state’s natural resources and enhancing its ecosystems.

The program recognizes businesses, professional and community organizations, and local governments within DEP's Southeast District for exceptional achievements in preventing or reducing impacts on the environment. To be considered for recognition, participants must demonstrate proactive, innovative and measurable achievements that exceed regulatory requirements and provide a direct benefit to our environment in one or more of the following categories:

  • Reducing environmental impacts
  • Conserving resources
  • Enhancing ecosystems
  • Remediating environmental impacts

Additional criteria that will be considered:

  • An organizational culture of environmental stewardship
  • Continuous improvement and growth of environmental programs
  • Environmental education and outreach components
  • Innovation and exceptional achievement in environmental stewardship

Rules and Instructions:

  1. The Southeast District Environmental Stewardship Achievement Awards Program is open to Florida businesses, industries, professional and non-profit organizations, and local governments located within Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee counties.
  2. Completed nomination form must be submitted along with any optional supporting documents.
  3. Supportive material is limited to 10 additional pages.

Nominations can be submitted to the Southeast District Office by email to Jon.W.Moore@FloridaDEP.gov or by mail to Florida Department of Environmental Protection Southeast District, Attention: Jon Moore, 3301 Gun Club Road, MSC 7210-1, West Palm Beach, FL 33406.

To nominate a deserving organization, or to be considered for recognition, please complete the nomination form and include any supporting documents demonstrating environmental stewardship efforts, including the criteria outlined above. Submissions can be made by mail or email. 

Winners will be recognized at the Southeast District's annual Open House on Sep. 12, 2023 at South Florida Water Management District: B-1 Auditorium at 3301 Gun Club Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33406.
