Southwest District Drinking Water

The DEP Southwest District regulates potable water systems in the following counties: Citrus, Hardee, Hernando*, Manatee, Pasco* and Pinellas.

*The Hernando and Pasco County utility departments permit the construction of water distribution mains in their counties that are 12 inches or less in diameter and that will distribute drinking water from county-owned drinking water facilities.

The Department of Health regulates potable water systems in Hillsborough County and Polk County.

The Southwest District office has created electronic mailboxes for submittal of reports in an electronic, PDF format. These mailboxes have been created to facilitate the submittal of reports electronically to a centralized location, eliminating the confusion of addressing these reports to individual staff members. Permitting applications may be submitted by mail or via email in PDF format to Hardcopy applications may be sent to the district office (a single set is sufficient; multiple copies are not needed). Application fee payments must be submitted to the district office. Please contact the Permitting Team for fee information.
