Permitting and Corrective Action

Anyone in the process of treating, storing, or disposing of hazardous waste in the state of Florida must have a permit. Links to the Hazardous Waste Application and Checklists and the Financial Assurance Main Page are provided below. The hazardous waste staff would suggest a pre-application meeting to discuss application requirements if a hazardous waste permit is being sought.

• The Florida Department of Health has primary authority and responsibility for facilities that generate, transport, store, or treat biomedical waste through processes other than incineration.
