Division of Water Restoration Assistance (General)
DEP joined the city of Marianna, US and state government representatives and local officials for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the wastewater treatment facility’s new solar plant. The newly constructed 1.9 megawatt facility on a 10-acre site near the city’s wastewater treatment plant, and 400 kilowatt facility on a 3-acre site at the sprayfield will lower pumping costs for the plant and help make the system more sustainable. DEP’s Division of Water Restoration Assistance (DWRA) provided a Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan for approximately $5 million. This 0% interest-rate loan includes almost $4 million in principal forgiveness which will not have to be repaid by the city. At the ceremony, DWRA was provided with an appreciation award for the project.
