Coastal Training Program at ANERR

The Coastal Training Program (CTP) provides science-based knowledge, training, resources and technical assistance to individuals responsible for making decisions that affect the coastal resources so vital to our watershed, our economy and our way of life. We promote and facilitate community-based stewardship and conservation by engaging leaders, managers, professionals, business owners and residents in gaining knowledge of the reserve. We draw expertise from both federal and state levels, channeling it to the local community.

Topics include:

  • Shoreline protection.
  • Green infrastructure.
  • Bay-friendly living.
  • Coastal resilience.
  • Ecosystem services.

For a current list of all workshops offered, visit the ANERR Eventbrite page.

CTP works collaboratively with local professional organizations such as flood plain managers, real estate associations, ecotour/fishing guides, small businesses, planning staff and civic groups to positively increase environmental stewardship within the ANERR watershed.

CTP increases information exchange among local, state and federal officials, community groups, individuals and institutions who affect coastal and estuarine ecosystems.

CTP also works with the Gulf of Mexico Alliance to coordinate training efforts across the gulf coast states.
