Algal Bloom Dashboard:

To ensure the health and safety of our state’s residents and visitors, DEP is committed to keeping Floridians updated on current algal blooms and how the state is responding to protect human health, water quality and the environment. Our interactive dashboard features real-time sampling updates, where citizens can report algal blooms, receive updates on current red tide status and find answers to frequently asked questions.

Living Shoreline Database:

Living shorelines mitigate naturally occurring and anthropogenic erosion by combining the use of natural and man-made materials. DEP worked alongside Cummins Cederberg to create a catalog of the living shoreline efforts throughout Florida. The collaboration produced a Living Shoreline Database that includes permit information on public living shoreline projects throughout Florida

Watershed Evaluation and Total Maximum Daily Loads:

Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) refers to the maximum amount of a given pollutant that a surface water can absorb and still meet the water quality standards that protect human health and aquatic life. Visit this link to view the most up to date information regarding TMDLs across the state.

Basin Management Action Plans Database:

A basin management action plan (BMAP) is a framework for water quality restoration that contains local and state commitments to reduce pollutant loading through current and future projects and strategies. Our interactive dashboard provides a visual representation of progress made towards the completion of each task and related sub-tasks for each BMAP across the state. 

State 404 Program:

The State 404 Program is responsible for overseeing permitting for any project proposing dredge or fill activities within state assumed waters. This link will provide you with updates regarding the status of the program, frequently asked questions and additional general information.
