The Florida Department of Environmental Protection submitted a proposed revision to Florida's Infrastructure State Implementation Plan (ISIP) under the Clean Air Act (CAA) to the United States Environmental Protection Agency. This proposed ozone ISIP amendment, dated September 18, 2018, confirms that Florida meets CAA Section 110(a)(2), requirements.
Asphalt concrete plants use equipment to produce asphalt concrete by batching or drum mixing aggregates, sand and other materials in certain proportions, then heating and coating the mixture with a binder such as bitumen or tar. Equipment used at an asphalt concrete plant includes rotary dryers, screens, elevators, silos, weight hoppers (batchers), drum mixers, cold feed bins, conveyors, mixer engines, asphalt cement storage heaters, pollutant control devices and auxiliary generators.
