This chapter provides the primary statutory authority for DEP and its environmental control activities. Authorization is provided for implementation of the state’s wastewater management program, for implementation of the state’s drinking water program and for other DEP programs.
Florida’s rules for public drinking water systems allow for reduced monitoring for certain contaminants, operator staffing, and delivery of consumer confidence reports for systems that qualify. Please contact your local department office and refer to the cited rules for details.
Most Floridians drink water from one of the more than 5,000 Public Water Systems (PWSs) in the state. Public Water Systems range from large community systems such as those found in the city of Jacksonville, to non-transient non-community systems such as schools and factories, to very small transient non-community systems such as campgrounds.
Domestic Wastewater Facilities submitting non-NPDES forms electronically should email the completed form to the appropriate district office listed below. Facilities submitting Form 62-610.300(4)(a)4, Pathogen Monitoring Report, should also use these email addresses.
