The Florida Department of Environmental Protection announces a public hearing on proposed nutrient Level II Water Quality Based Effluent Limitations (WQBELs) for Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) Main Street Water Reclamation Facility (MSWRF) and the John R. Kelly Generating Station (KGS) for Sweetwater Branch. These nutrient Level II WQBELs will constitute site-specific numeric interpretations of the narrative nutrient criterion set forth in paragraph 62-302.530(48)(b), F.A.C., for Sweetwater Branch and replace the otherwise applicable numeric nutrient criteria in subsection 62-302.531(2), F.A.C., for this water.
The department is requesting that all comments be received by July 5, 2022. Written comments should be submitted by email to Avril Wood-McGrath or by mail to:
