National Park and Recreation Month
July is Park and Recreation Month. If you can’t get to your favorite Florida state park this month, you can still explore our parks via our Parks from Anywhere pages. Digital resources include webcams and activity sheets to learn more about state parks and the plants and animals that live there.
Florida’s Coral Reef stretches almost 350 miles from the Dry Tortugas in the Gulf of Mexico to the St. Lucie Inlet on the Atlantic Ocean. It’s the only coral reef system in the continental United States. The reef is home to over forty species of reef-building corals that provide shelter, food and breeding sites for millions of plants and animals. Want to see the reef? You can watch Coral City Camera live from the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserve.
