The Acquisition and Restoration Council (ARC) received three project proposals for Florida Forever 2026 Cycle 1: 61 Ranch, Hi Oaks Ranch, and Shoal River Timberlands. On December 12, 2025, ARC voted to move all three proposals on for more detailed review. Chapter 259, Florida Statutes, requires ARC to hold public meetings to take testimony on new Florida Forever proposals "in such areas of the state where the major portions of such lands are situated."
