4th Saturday Paddle with the Apalachicola Riverkeeper on an Apalachicola River tributary or the river itself. Kayaks available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations, call 850-653-8936 or contact by email. Free to members; $30 for nonmembers (which entitles one to a one-year membership).
Guided Nature Tours, Nov. to April 27, 2018, 9:30-11:30 a.m., Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center, Naples, FL. Experienced guides and naturalists provide boat and kayak tours to explore bays and mangrove tunnels.
10: The Volusia County Council will cut ribbon for the newest segment of the Spring-to-Spring Trail at 10 a.m. in DeLand. Park at the Glenwood Presbyterian Church.
12: Cross Florida Greenway Public meeting 6--7:30 p.m. at the Marion County Growth Services, 2710 Silver Spring Blvd., Ocala, 34470. Provide input about current and future plans for multi-use trails on the Cross Florida Greenway.
9-13:Florida Tour De Force. 270-mile ride from North Miami Beach to Orlando to honor and raise money for Florida's Law Enforcement Fallen Heroes.
13-15:Tour de Pink South three-day ride from Tampa to Siesta Key to raise funds and awareness to fight breast cancer. There is also a one-day ride on April 14.
14:Sportsability Outdoor Day. Outdoor activities for persons of all abilities, sponsored by the Florida Disabled Outdoor Association, Maclay Gardens State Park.
5:Bike 5 Cities Day. Bike/Walk Central Florida is teaming up with FDOT's Alert Today Alive Tomorrow for a guided family-friendly ride on scenic bike trails and slow-speed residential streets in Orlando, Winter Park, Casselberry, Maitland and Eatonville.
5:Global Big Day. See how many bird species you can find in a single day and report the results on eBird.
13: Save the Date! Spaghetti 100 bicycle event east of Tallahassee.
20-21: Save the Date! Gainesville Cycling Festival.
25-28:16th Annual Florida Paddlers' Rendezvous in the Blackwater River State Forest. Several paddling trips in the region with a limit of 25 paddlers per trip. Paddling clubs and individuals from around the state and beyond will be participating.
