Mineral Oil Dielectric Fluid (MODEF) is used in a electrical transformers and other electrical devices. The relatively low toxicity of MODEF (see analysis below) allows for the development of specific streamlined response action protocols that are consistent with Chapter 62-780, Florida Administrative Code, “Contaminated Site Cleanup Criteria”.
