Revisions to Rule 62-243.500, F.A.C., Certification (Tampering with Motor Vehicle Air Pollution Equipment)

The Department is revising Rule 62-243.500, F.A.C. to correct an adoption by reference of an U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulation at 40 CFR Part 85, Subpart P (Importation of Motor Vehicles and Motor Vehicle Engines), which documents imported nonconforming motor vehicles to be exempt from federal emission control requirements. In the course of the 2025 annual rule review, the Department identified a federal regulation currently referenced in Rule 62-243.500, F.A.C., which is not correctly incorporated by reference.
