Public Workshop: Potable Reuse Rulemaking, Multiple Chapters

DEP's Division of Water Resource Management is hosting a public workshop on proposed rulemaking for Chapters 62-600, 62-610, 62-625, 62-500, and 62-555, F.A.C.

These rules relate to the regulation of domestic wastewater and drinking water in Florida. Some of the revisions relate to the regulation, treatment, and disposal of domestic wastewater and are being proposed to ensure proper regulation for the implementation of potable reuse programs in the state of Florida. Other revisions will assist with the regulation, establishment, continual operation, and expansion of Public Water Systems, as well as identifying the requirements for implementing treated reclaimed water as a source for Public Water Systems.

All of the proposed revisions will address updates necessary to adopt recommendations of the Potable Reuse Commission's 2020 report "Advancing Potable Reuse in Florida: Framework for the Implementation of Potable Reuse in Florida" as required by Florida's Clean Waterways Act of 2020 (Chapter 2020-150, Laws of Florida).
