Management Plans
Land management plans for properties 160 acres or less must meet the same requirements as properties greater than 160 acres with the exception that they are not required to be developed with input from an advisory group. These plans are submitted to the council for review and recommendations.

Current Requests Under Review:

Sandpiper Key Preserve: FDEP Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection (Lease No. 4737)

The FDEP Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection has submitted a management plan for the 34.10-acre Sandpiper Key Preserve. The Board of Trustees acquired the property in 2025 to protect natural communities and listed species habitat, provide buffer protection to the Lemon Bay Aquatic Preserve. The Division of State Lands will approve this management plan unless three Acquisition and Restoration Council members ask that the Division place the plan on a future Council meeting agenda. The deadline for Council members to make this request is July 30, 2026. James Street Park: City of South Daytona (Lease No. 4077)

The City of South Daytona has submitted a management plan for James Street Park that includes .34 acres of Board of Trustees-owned property. James Street Park is a 5.60-acre area that includes baseball fields, pavilion, splash pad, racquetball courts, and many other active recreational facilities.
