The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) administers the Stan Mayfield Working Waterfronts Capital Outlay (SMWWCO) Grant Program to support the commercial fishing industry and marine aquaculture industries, including infrastructure for receiving or unloading seafood, for the purpose of supporting the seafood economy. The SMWWCO Grant Program was created to provide funding to assist commercial saltwater products or commercial saltwater wholesale dealers, retailer license holders and seafood houses in maintaining their operations. Applicants must demonstrate a benefit to the local economy.

Please note: Funding for the FY 2026/2027 SMWWCO grant cycle is contingent upon legislative appropriation and intent.  At this time, the Department cannot confirm whether a 2026/2027 application cycle will occur.  If funding is authorized, application timelines, updated guidance, and submission instructions will be announced publicly on the SMWWCO program webpage.
