The Strategic Beach Management Plan (SBMP) Introduction section provides an overview of the Department’s beach management programs, coastal emergency response activities, Florida’s 66 coastal barrier inlets, list of beach restoration projects, sand resources and innovative technologies. The Introduction is associated with beach management activities that deal with addressing the critical erosion areas found along Florida’s 825 miles of sandy beaches fronting on the Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico and the Straits of Florida. Approved May 2023.
