The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is holding the sixth meeting of the Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal System Technical Advisory Committee (OSTDS TAC). This TAC was established pursuant to the 2020 Clean Waterways Act (Chapter 2020-150, Laws of Florida). Members will develop recommendations related to the availability of enhanced nutrient-reducing OSTDS in the marketplace, including such systems that are cost-effective, low maintenance, and reliable; regulatory options; appropriate setback distances from surface water, groundwater and wells; and the use of associated Enhanced Nutrient Reducing (ENR) technology. These recommendations will be submitted to the governor and legislature by Jan. 1, 2022, as required by the Clean Waterways Act, and will also guide DEP's future rulemaking activities.
