Private Providers of OSTDS Inspections

Starting July 1, 2022, owners or contractors with owner authorization have the option to hire a private provider to perform inspections of onsite sewage treatment and disposal systems (OSTDS). The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is in the rule development process as directed by Chapter 2022-105, Laws of Florida. Further details can be seen on our Private Providers of OSTDS Inspections page.

    Chapter 62-6.001, F.A.C., Ratification Update

Amendments to Chapter 62-6.001, F.A.C., incorporate more stringent permitting requirements for onsite sewage treatment and disposal systems (OSTDS) in areas where the Department of Environmental Protection has adopted an OSTDS remediation plan as part of a basin management action plan. These amendments require ratification because the rule exceeds specified thresholds for likely adverse impact or increase in regulatory costs, etc.

Updated Rule Effective June 21, 2022

On June 21, 2022, several sections of Chapter 62-6, F.A.C. were updated and are now effective.
