BleachWatch is a citizen-science program designed to detect and monitor both coral bleaching and coral disease events in Southeast Florida. If you're a certified diver, take our free two-hour classroom training course to learn how to submit reports of coral disease and coral bleaching! These reports are vital in monitoring the progress of the current coral disease epidemic we are facing in Florida and now in the Caribbean as well.

To become a BleachWatch observer, take one of our upcoming free two-hour classes that will provide you with the training you need to recognize coral bleaching and coral disease, and how to differentiate between the two. You will become a trained BleachWatch observer after learning how to submit reports of coral bleaching and coral disease sightings (and why it's just as important to report signs of no bleaching or disease) on the reef!

Whether you're taking the class as a refresher course or learning about coral disease and coral bleaching for the first time, it's the perfect way to get involved in the citizen-science program – BleachWatch!
