For information on the 62-610 F.A.C. Phase I rulemaking efforts, visit the Water Reuse News & Rulemaking Information page.

In response to the state objectives in Section 373.250 and Section 403.064, Florida Statutes, of "encouraging and promoting reuse," the Florida Department of Environmental Protection has developed a comprehensive reuse program. DEP has created extensive rules for water reuse which are contained in Chapter 62-610, Florida Administrative Code.

Water reuse involves taking domestic wastewater, giving it a high degree of treatment, and using the resulting high-quality reclaimed water for a new, beneficial purpose. Extensive treatment and disinfection ensure that public health and environmental quality are protected.
