The Environmental Resource Permit (ERP) Program regulates activities involving the alteration of surface water flows. This includes new activities in uplands that generate stormwater runoff from upland construction, as well as dredging and filling in wetlands and other surface waters.
Each certified facility displayed has an information page that lists the original site certification application, the final order approving certification, the license as well as other useful documents.

The Siting Coordination Office operates under the following statutes and rules:
Permits are typically authorizations to construct or operate a facility. State, regional and local permits may be required for any given facility.
Certifications for energy facilities cover almost every aspect of the facility as an all-in-one license for construction and operation of energy facilities. As such, the state pre-empts the issuance of any other type of permit for the facility, except for local zoning and building. Certification is granted for the life of the facility.
