Land Management Plan Advisory Group Meeting for Lease 3995

DEP is hosting a meeting of a land management plan advisory group to which all persons are invited. In accordance with section 259.032(8)(b), Florida Statutes, DEP's Mining and Mitigation Program is in the process of updating the land management plan for approximately 6,376 acres it manages located mostly along the Peace and Alafia Rivers (Lease 3995), part of the Integrated Habitat Network (IHN) Core Lands. The IHN Core Lands are predominantly streams, rivers, and adjacent floodplains that were affected by phosphate mining activities. The existing management plan was approved in 2012. The advisory group consists of representatives of the lead land managing agency (DEP) and representatives from various public and private stakeholder sectors. 

The public meeting will include an advisory group discussion (open to the public) followed by a public comment period. There will also be an opportunity to submit oral (recorded) or written public comments on site.
